Who needs the Galaxy Nexus when you can have the Samsung Illusion?

Verizon got official this morning with specs and a release date for a new Android handset in its lineup – the Samsung Illusion. Nothing to particularly write home about, the handset comes running Android 2.3 and has a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, and 2GB of built-in storage (expandable via microSD up to 32GB).

The environmentally conscious will also be happy to know that the “rear casing and battery cover are made from 70 percent post-consumer material and 35 percent of the front casing is post-consumer material,” and that the “box material uses 60 percent recycled paper (post-consumer waste).”

You can order the Illusion online starting tomorrow for $79.99, or pick one up at your local Verizon store starting in January.
