Last week, images of a wildly futuristic HTC handset, codenamed “Zeta,” started taking the inter webs by storm. Blogs were abuzz, and it definitely had us clamoring for more. Of course, as with any rumor, we recommend you take like this with a grain of salt.
The rumored device will reportedly come packed with a 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, 4.5-inch 720p screen, 1GB RAM, 32GB of storage, Ice Cream Sandwich and 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front. Are you skeptical yet?
It definitely sounds like it could be an Android-lover’s dream phone if – and that’s a big if – this materializes.
Is the future closer than we think, though? Thanks to a tipster over at MacTimes.de, the phone, at least in name, has made a cameo appearance in an Amazon UK post for a vehicle vent mount cradle. Maybe the HTC Zeta is the real-deal after all. While the photo acquired by Engadget last week may have been a mere concept, perhaps the internal specs might be something we can look forward to. According to the manufacturer listing, the Zeta is proportionate to the Sensation XL, Desire HD and Titan.
It isn’t much, Buffalo, but anytime we can fantasize about a quad-core phone, 4.5-inch phone, we get more than a little excited.
