Get ready to take that block-breaking, world building, resource hunting addiction you love so much with you wherever you go, iOS users. Minecraft: Pocket Edition is launching tomorrow for Apple‘s portable platform. It will be available on the App Store for right around $10.
Develop is reporting that Mojang has confirmed that iOS Minecraft: Pocket Edition players will be able to game in multiplayer instances with fellow Android users. Cross-platform play is a beautiful thing when it comes to cooperative world building.
Once an Xperia Play exclusive, Minecraft: Pocket Edition has actually been available to Android users for several months. I, myself, have already poured way too many hours into the well designed, touchscreen-based world of Mojang’s portable offspring.
Gamers should know going in that this is not quite the full version of Minecraft you would expect. There are no mobs, experience, dungeons or Nether worlds just yet. The game enjoys a frequent update schedule and will likely see a more full version later down the line, but understand that what you’ll be buying tomorrow is more of a Minecraft-lite experience.
We’ll have more on the many iterations of this game as it comes.
