Search For Streaming Movies With CanIStream. It

Ever missed that movie you have been dying to catch? Or perhaps there was a power outage while your TiVo was trying to snag the last Oscar flick on cable. That shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, though, not in this modern era, what with vid streaming and digital rentals, right?

Right… except that selection can vary from one provider to the next, and who wants to hop all over the place, repeating the same search again and again?

Take heart — there’s CanIStream. It to the rescue! The site is basically a niche-specific search engine that can parse the content databases of the bigwig online video resources all in one shot. Which means, if a given movie title is available from iTunes, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, CanIStream. It can find it. There are also direct links based on viewing options (i.e., instant streaming, streaming rental, digital purchase, or via DVDs/Blu-rays for sale).

The only down side is that it can only search films, so you won’t find old episodes of Arrested Development using this, for now anyway. But at least you’ll be able to pour yourself a glass of chardonnay, dim the lights and enjoy a leisurely viewing of Jackass 2.5.
