Rumors around the net have been swirling about who the main character will be in Rockstar’s freshly announced Grand Theft Auto V ever since the first official trailer dropped a few weeks back. All of the internet’s discussion and sleuthery lead them to one actor and his profile on IMDb; Ned Luke.
According to Ned Luke’s filmography, this actor is slated to play a character named Albert De Silva in Grand Theft Auto V. The filmography also has GTA V pinned down for a 2012 release date, but we won’t pay any attention to that date until we hear it officially from Rockstar.
On Luke’s IMDb profile is a link to his demo reel. If you watch the Grand Theft Auto V trailer at the top of this post and then hop over to Luke’s demo and listen to him speak in several instances, you’ll be able to draw together a ton of vocal similarities between the two.
Luke’s look, it’s worth noting, also resembles that of what the main character in Rockstar‘s next GTA title will stand for in the series’ catalogue of themes. He’s an older felon, one that’s become a dad and a family man and is looking to step away from the crime business and into a life of legitimate success. Luke fits that bill, if that bill had a good fitting.
This is all speculation, of course. Until Rockstar makes a formal announcement concerning who is playing who in their project, go ahead and file this one away in the rumor bin. That said, the demo reel seems like a very strong argument in the case for Ned Luke as the leading man in Grand Theft Auto V. If we had to put money on it, we’d say this one is as good as gold.
We’ll have more on Grand Theft Auto V as it comes.
