Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the fourth game in the now yearly franchise from Ubisoft, is officially available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The story spanned in the first three entries in the brand is one that weaves in and out of itself constantly, and is probably one of the more complicated mainstream gaming plot lines running today … unless you count Metal Gear Solid, then that’s the most complicated gaming plot line today.
As such, Ubisoft‘s marketing team has released the two minute clip above that features Desmond, the main character in the real world side of the series, and his summary of what’s brought him and his Animus alter-egos up to the time in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. It’s hardly a service to the wealth of hours spent discovering the story over the course of the first three games; however, as a quick refresher before firing up the newest game, we’ll definitely take it.
And, yes, if you’re curious and you are just now noticing it, that is Nolan North doing the voice work of Desmond. North, as talented as he is, has been just about everywhere in games since before this current generation even started. Most famously, he’s Nathan Drake from Uncharted. Least famously, he’s the Penguin in Batman: Arkham City. Bet you didn’t see that one coming.
As more pops up around Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, we’ll be on it. Have any of you readers been out to stores and snagged the next chapter in Desmond, Ezio and Altair’s story yet? What do you think so far?
