Is Google announcing their much rumored music store next week? Invites have started to circulate for an event in Los Angeles on November 16, but clues are rather light on what we can expect.
Late last month a leaked teaser appeared in the form of a landing page, suggesting a Google Music Store may be closer than we think. The Internet gobbled it up, but as of late their hasn’t been much action, so when and if is still very much in the air.
“These go to eleven” stands front and center on the invite, possibly hinting at the famous Spinal Tap scene where two characters discuss a “very special” Marshall amp that one-ups other equipment be going to eleven. “Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it?” It’s a stretch, for sure, but we wouldn’t put it past Google to make such a clever reference.
A teaser image has been included with the invites as well, but we haven’t been able to decipher any clues, if there are any at all. A faded T-Mobile logo is plastered on the building. Is there an exclusive in the works? If that’s the case, Magenta offering Google Music Store access would definitely be a way to retain customers, especially with the iPhone.
All will be revealed next Wednesday, so stay tuned for what’s in store. You can watch everything unfold live by going to YouTube.com/Android if you so choose.
What are you hoping Google will announce? Have you found any hints that we missed?
