Meg Whitman Indecisive Over webOS Future

by Brandon Russell | November 8, 2011November 8, 2011 5:45 pm PDT

Poor, poor webOS. With rumors running rampant over the forgotten OS, nobody seems to want to give it a permanent home – or maybe even kill it off. Just last month, HP CEO Meg Whitman said a long-term decision would be made soon concerning webOS’ future.

Nobody expected she would be so indecisive.

“It’s really important to me to make the right decision, not the fast decision,” Whitman told a room full of Palm and HP employees, according to The Verge. Her decision has been pushed back to the next three or four weeks while the company weighs its options. Whitman added that if HP decided to keep the OS, the company wants to do it in a very significant way over a multi-year period.

With HP pledging its future to Windows 8, many expected the company to sell off the mobile platform to the highest bidder. Perhaps offers were too low? Your guess is as good as ours.

The story is developing, so stay tuned for further updates.
