Nintendo put another trailer up in the press section of their site for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. There was no press release to go along with the visuals, so any details the trailer provides will likely be gained by watching and guessing.
We can tell, however, that our hero will see deserts, fish people, a lady with crazy hair, a sword upgraded by energy and at least one epic standoff. Wow, I feel like I’ve described every Zelda title ever made.
Forgive me for waxing nostalgic, but Zelda always seems to force me in this direction… Am I the only one here sensing a lack of major hype for this title? I know I’m excited to see what Skyward Sword does for Link and his constant chain of quests, but I feel like the buzz surrounding this adventure is less palpable than it’s been in the past for previous entries. I remember going bonkers for Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time; now, with Skyward Sword, I feel oddly patient.
That said, my love for the franchise will put me in my local store on launch day. Anyone else planning to make the trip to their retailer and snag this game on day one?
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is due out in North America on November 20th (a little over two weeks from today) exclusively for the Wii. This is the first Zelda title built from the ground up to use Nintendo’s motion control centric console and MotionPlus.
We’ll have more trailers, assets and details for Skyward Sword as they are released.
