Okay, so it’s not a real Amazon Kindle Fire, but it’s a damn good imitation. For those of you who just cannot wait until November 15 to get your hands on Amazon’s $199 debut tablet and check out that marvelous looking “bookshelf” user interface, you can now get a taster on your iPhone and iPod touch.
It’s a hack that transforms the look of your iPhone to resemble Amazon’s upcoming tablet, and it will work on jailbroken iOS devices only, courtesy of a developer named “falcon212.”
Judging by the video above, it’s a really impressive tweak that boasts a number of awesome features, such as scrollable dock icons; customizable wallpapers and dock images; multiple default home screens for things like Newsstand; favorites, apps, and games; and a Weather widget. It also features an RSS news ticker, and it’s compatible with both iOS 4 and iOS 5.
I think Kindle Fire for iPhone is just terrific, and I’d love to try it out for myself. Unfortunately I don’t have a jailbroken device.
Will you be downloading the tweak when it hits the Cydia Store?
