Apple Admits iOS 5 Battery Life Stinks, Fix Coming

by Brandon Russell | November 2, 2011November 2, 2011 4:55 pm PDT

iOS BatteryIt turns out iPhone users aren’t imagining those battery problems. The company admitted Wednesday that a few pesky bugs are plaguing iOS 5, causing some devices to drain faster than others.

In a statement to AllThingsD, Apple said, “A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”

Ever since iOS 5’s arrival, user forums have seen an influx of activity complaining about the matter, so it’s good to see Apple addressing the issue. In fact, iOS 5.0.1 beta has already been seeded to developers promising to fix our battery woes.

While there have been a number of battery improving solutions offered up by the community, going the extra mile is a big inconvenience. Hang tight, iOS 5ers, the fix is on the way.

Have you guys had battery issues?
