Galaxy Nexus Pops Up On Samsung’s Website

by Emily Price | October 18, 2011October 18, 2011 4:06 pm PDT

It wasn’t exactly the best-kept secret in mobile phones, but now we know that Samsung will definitely be showing off the Galaxy Nexus at its Hong Kong event in a few hours.

A search for “Galaxy Nexus” on Sammy’s site will now result in a picture of the shiny new Ice Cream Sandwich handset, complete with “from Verizon” designation (in case there were any questions on what carrier we’d be seeing this bad boy on). The “Visit the ‘Galaxy Nexus’ Page,” however,  doesn’t exist quite yet on the site –although that story is likely to change later tonight.

This morning, an NTT DoCoMo let the specs for the Nexus slip. While nothing is for certain until tonight’s event (be sure to check out our liveblog at 10pm EST!), here’s what we expect to see:

Galaxy Nexus Specs

  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • 4.65” Super AMOLED HD display (1280×720)
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage
  • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera (1080p video recording)
  • 1.3-megapixel forward-facing cam
  • UMTS/WCDMA (14.4Mbps downloads)
  • 1,750 mAh battery

Who’s excited about tonight’s event?
