Sky 3D Content Starts Arriving on Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo 3DS with Sky 3DBritish broadcaster Sky has begun making its 3D content available to users of the Nintendo 3DS following a deal with Nintendo which was announced way back in January. The first 3D content is a trailer for the upcoming Sky series Meerkats 3D, but there is more on the way.

Sky is also set to introduce 3D content from Eurosport, in addition to the Shaun the Sheep 3D series from Aardman, the creators of Wallace and Gromit. As well as the content from Sky, Nintendo will provide its own 3D clips similar to that of the magic trick show that’s currently available for viewing.

It’s good to see that Sky’s 3D content is making its way to the Nintendo 3DS, but I get the feeling 3DS users aren’t going to be all that excited about short clips alone. Other than the Shaun the Sheep series, neither Nintendo or Sky have revealed plans to deliver full episodes of 3D shows.

Until full 3D shows are available, I don’t think the addition of Sky 3D clips is really going to entice gamers into purchasing the 3DS anymore than Nintendo’s other efforts to date, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for something a little more substantial.

Have you tried any of Sky’s 3D content on the Nintendo 3DS yet? What do you think of it?
