We all expected Google and Samsung to unveil the new Nexus Prime during their joint announcement at CTIA this week, but when the two companies announced that this would be postponed, we were left wondering when the device — and the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich release — may be coming.
According to Samsung’s U.K. sales director, the Google Nexus Prime will be available “sooner than you think.” Andrew Glass took to the stage at the T3 awards earlier this week and said:
“You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think.”
Of course, when the Nexus Prime finally does get its unveiling, there might not be too many surprises to those who have been following the rumors. After all, we’ve already seen its specs, images of the device, and even hands-on videos. If you’re excited about owning this device, however, those aren’t going to appease you too much before its launch.
Recent rumors have suggested that following the postponement of the joint CTIA announcement, Google and Samsung will unveil the Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich at an event in London on October 27. Having said that, with hints that the device will be here “sooner than you think,” its possible the device will come before then.
Are you looking forward to the Google Nexus Prime?
