It’s become customary for a lot of the entries in The Legend of Zelda line to begin with this almost storyboard style opening. Gamers are presented with a basic backstory and framing for the adventure that lies ahead, and they’ve been doing it off and on since A Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword looks to re-spark the storyboard-esque presentation of backstory when it releases on November 20th. Joystiq posted a story for the video, as released by Nintendo of Japan, of the introductory moments of this upcoming game.
The last title in the franchise to sport this intro was Wind Waker. I loved Wind Waker, so let’s count this as a good sign of things to come. Here’s that incredible intro:
