Last month, Verizon sent out a statement, titled Network Optimization, saying that the company began throttling 3G speeds of their top 5% of data users. That same statement also says that those who own 4G LTE devices, however, would be unaffected. Cut-and-dry, right? Not so for one Big Red LTE user. After burning through 60GB of data in just 13 days, the customer was adjudged to have been abusing Verizon’s network, leading to their LTE speeds being throttled to “slower than 3G.” It is a very curious thing because, as another Droid-Life reader points out, their data was not throttled even after using 120GB of data in a mere 10 days. TechnoBuffalo has reached out to Verizon for a comment and we’ll update you as soon as we know more.
Verizon LTE users, have you seen any throttling on your accounts?
