It’s almost new iPhone time!

Preorders for the iPhone 4S officially start tonight at 12:01 PST on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. I know you’re anxious to get your hands on one of the new handsets, preordering the phone can ensure that you get it on the release day (or as soon as possible after). Supplies of new Apple devices typically run low, so if you don’t preorder you might get stuck searching for the handset, or even worse, end up empty-handed come October 14th.

Still not sure what carrier you’re going to go with? Here’s the rundown on what you can expect from each of the three:

AT&T
AT&T customers must purchase voice plan for AT&T’s extensive array of options, as well as a data plan for the handset. AT&T offers three data plans: 200MB/$15 month, 2GB/$25 month, 4G+tethering for $45 month.

You can upgrade your current handset or preorder your first phone with AT&T here.

Sprint
iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 require activation on one of the Sprint Everything plans. The plans start at $69.99 for 450 minutes, and require an additional $10 charge for adding data. That said, for $79.99 you’re getting 450 minutes and all the texting and data use you can handle.

If you want to use the iPhone as a mobile hotspot, that functionality will run you an additional $29.99 per month.

Sprint preorders can be done here.

Verizon
Customers will need to purchase a voice plan beginning at $39.99 for 450 minutes and a data plan beginning at $30 for 2 GB monthly access, Verizon also offers 5GB/$50 and 10GB/$80 data options for heavy phone data users, as well as three plans that include the mobile hotspot feature: 4GB/ $50, 7GB/ $70, 12GB/ $100.

Verizon preorders can be done here.

Are any of you planning on preordering a 4S? What carrier are you choosing?
