T-Mobile used today’s Mobilize conference in San Francisco to launch a trio of new 4G devices. In addition to the HTC Amaze 4G phone and Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot, Magenta also unveiled their take on Samsung’s latest: The Galaxy S II.
T-Mo’s version of the GSII features a 4.52″, 800 x 480 (WVGA) Super AMOLED Plus display and dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 Processor, making it the largest phone in the carrier’s lineup in terms of display size. The phone will launch with Android 2.3.5 onboard and support myriad entertainment offerings including Samsung’s Media Hub and T-Mobile’s own T-Mobile TV HD service. Additionally, the GSII will support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 42 high-speed network. You’ll also get an 8 megapixel camera with full 1080p HD video capture and a front-facing cam to boot.
According to T-Mobile PR, the Galaxy S II is “expected” to retail for $229.99 on contract and after rebate, and be available for pre-sale starting October 10 with retail availability beginning on Oct 12th.
Same size as the Epic 4G Touch, but different carrier? Who’s with Magenta on the super-sized Galaxy S II?
