Buy New Assassin’s Creed for PS3 on Day 1, Get Original Free

Ubisoft has announced that PlayStation 3 owners will have a chance to take advantage of a limited time offer when they go to buy the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Revelations. If you snag a day one copy of Revelations for the PS3, you will also get a copy of the first Assassin’s Creed on your new game disc.

The news comes by way of a press release from Ubisoft. They indicate that this move will serve to re-introduce both fans new and old to the Assassin’s Creed storyline.

In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio traces the footsteps of his predecessor, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. Now, gamers will be able to go back to the beginning of the Assassin’s Creed storyline as the day one copies of Assassin’s Creed Revelations on PlayStation®3 will include a copy of the original Assassin’s Creed.

Those that played the original game or followed its critical success know that it wasn’t necessarily for everyone. Assassin’s Creed may have been a one of a kind playing experience, but a lot of gamers found the work to fall into the realm of repetitive. Gorgeous, inspiring and fun at times, this mixed game spawned something great.

The series has improved tremendously since its freshman effort with Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood garnering a ton of both critical and commercial success. Given the series’ recently earned pedigree, the original game may not strike players as particularly remarkable.

Again, this offer is only good to PlayStation 3 owners.

If you miss this day one deal, go on living with the knowledge that you can probably pick up Assassin’s Creed used for either the PlayStation 3, PC or Xbox 360 for right around 5 smackers.

Be sure to check out the trailer above, it’s undeniably sweet.

As another note, you can probably snag a day one copy on day two, as long as the title isn’t sold out everywhere.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations is currently due out on November 15th; a day that should destroy all of our bank accounts.
