Sony bought up some ad space during the first NFL regular season game of the 2011-12 season in order to bring the world the glory of Nathan Drake’s next adventure. Saints and Packers fans had reasons to watch, but those among us not in the NFL mood may have skipped out all together.

Sony and Naughty Dog has done a proper job with the marketing for this, the third game in the Uncharted series. Their showing at E3 was fantastic, they’ve appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and they even had Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake and like a billion other gaming characters, do an unboxing video for the Special Edition of the game itself. Hopefully all of that pays off when it comes time to move copies.
It’s scary to consider the possibility that Naughty Dog may outdo their own work with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. That sequel garnered a metric ton of critical and commercial success, and most editors and fans would rank it among the best games of this console generation, if not of all time. If Uncharted 3 is better?
Oh, right, that trailer had Drake on horseback. Horseback, folks! Let’s hope Naughty Dog nails that portion of the experience, too.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on November 1st in the States.
