HTC just unveiled the HTC TITAN smartphone at an event here in London, along with the HTC Radar. These are the company’s first Windows Phone 7 Mango devices, and out of the two, the TITAN is by far the most impressive. Don’t get my wrong, the Radar is pretty darn awesome, but the TITAN is just fantastic.
If you’re a Windows Phone user and you’re eager to get your hands on the best Mango device, then look no further than the TITAN — which has previously been called the Eternity in rumors running up to HTC announcement. This baby is big, but beautiful. It’s just 9.9mm thin, which makes it one of the thinnest Windows Phone devices available, and you get a gorgeous 4.7-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800.
Like its Windows Phone Mango cousin, the TITAN’s aluminum unibody design feels robust and well-built, and boasts a real sense of sophistication. Though the screen’s big, the handset is by no means too big for your pocket, or too heavy to carry around. You know instantly when you pick this thing up that you’re holding a premium device, and it gets even better when you turn it on.
The TITAN is lightening fast. That 1.5GHz MSM8255 processor is backed up by 512MB of RAM, which makes everything ultra smooth. Just like the Radar, the TITAN features all of HTC’s exclusive Windows Phone features, such as HTC Watch, an app that puts the latest TV shows and movies at your fingertips; and the HTC Photo Enhancer, which allows you to add cool effects to your images and shoot panoramas without the need for third-party applications.
The 8-megapixel camera is accompanied by two LED flashes, and takes some pretty awesome photographs. In fact, it kind of made my digital camera, which I was using to snap the device, look pretty poor.
The HTC TITAN will be available globally from October, beginning its roll-out in Europe and Asia. As soon as it hits the market, I believe the TITAN will be the best Windows Phone device available.
