T-Mobile Galaxy S II Goes Light on the Details (UPDATED)

by Sean P. Aune | August 30, 2011August 30, 2011 4:14 pm PST

T-Mobile Galaxy S IIWhile the Epic 4G Touch and AT&T Galaxy S II both got rolled out to big fanfare at tonight’s Samsung event, apparently T-Mobile wants to play things a bit closer to the vest for right now.

While both Sprint and AT&T had multi-page press releases, and four photos each, to go along with their phones, T-Mobile only had one photo and paragraph to accompany tonight’s big announcements.

T-Mobile USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy S™ II at T-Mobile this fall. Featuring a brilliant 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen – one of the largest screens available on a Galaxy S II device – T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II promises to keep customers entertained and connected while on the go. We look forward to sharing more information in the coming weeks.

We had heard a little while back that the T-Mobile version was going to be called the Samsung Hercules, but for whatever reason the name has not been announced, nor have the specs beyond the screen size.

We’ll be sure to bring you more information on this device as it’s released, but we have no clue when that will be at this point.

UPDATE: A Samsung rep confirmed the phone will just be called “Galaxy S II,” only the Sprint phone got a special name.
