While most of the United States had its eyes on the East cost last night due to Hurricane Irene, Motorola quietly announced on the official Droid Bionic Twitter account that the phone we have been waiting for since January would be available on September 8. Considering how long we’ve been waiting for the Droid Bionic, what an odd and curious time and way to finally make it official.
Sept. 8 had already been the suspected release date due to some leaked documents that made the rounds earlier this month, so that also makes you suspect that the rumored minimum advertised price of $300 will also be correct. We’re sure to hear more in the coming days, but that price seems like insanity in this day and age when you can pick up a decent phone for a third of that price. Unless the Droid Bionic will literally make me Gingerbread beyond just using Android 2.3, that’s going to be a hard price to justify.
Are you excited for the Droid Bionic?
