Can’t wait to see what HTC is set to announce next week? Well, here’s a little teaser for you, courtesy of Pocketnow. The photo above is purportedly a leaked press image of the new HTC Omega — a new Windows Phone 7 Mango handset which is expected to appear at HTC’s London event on September 1.
As you can see, the HTC Omega is white and silver in color, with an aluminum construction. As a fan of white devices, I have to say the Omega looks very attractive, but what about its internals? Well, this is what we’re expecting right now:
HTC Omega Specs
- Windows Phone 7 Mango
- 3.8-inch SLCD display
- 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 single-core processor
- 512MB RAM
- 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
- Front-facing camera
- DLNA compatibility
- Micro-HDMI output
Of course, until HTC makes its official announcement next week, those specs are not guaranteed. If they are accurate, the Omega looks like a pretty decent handset, with a nice, large display, a powerful processor, and a top of the range rear-facing camera.
SlashGear notes that the Omega may be called the HTC Radar when it hits carriers, and says that in addition to the Omega, HTC is also expected to announce the HTC Eternity — another Windows Phone Mango handset, which is expected to be a higher-end model with a larger 4.7-inch AMOLED display.
I’m very much looking forward to the Omega, and the Eternity even more so. I will be attending the HTC event next Thursday, so we’ll be bringing you the latest news from HTC as soon as it’s announced.
What do you think of the Omega?
