Now that Tim Cook has taken the Apple reins let’s get further aquatinted with him, shall we? Here are some fun facts about Tim Cook:

Tim Cook

  • Grew up in Robertsdale, Alabama
  • Received B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University in 1982
  • Received M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 1988
  • Worked at IBM and Compaq before being hired by Steve Jobs to work at Apple
  • Served on and off as Apple CEO while Steve Jobs was out on medical hiatus before becoming full-time CEO
  • Is a fitness nut and likes hikes, bikes and being a gym rat
  • Begins sending emails at 4:30 AM and used to hold Sunday night telephone meetings to prepare for the week
  • Preparation, hard work and intuition are the core principals of Tim Cook’s work ethics
  • Was quoted saying “I see Steve there with gray hair in his 70s, long after I’m retired” in reference to Steve Job’s placement in Apple.
  • Is a big Auburn football fan
