HP Discounts The TouchPad To $99

The death of webOS is pretty sad for some (especially Noah), but it also means that now you can score a pretty hefty discount on webOS devices. HP has slashed the price of the TouchPad down to a mind-boggling $99 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version, and just $150 for the 32GB model.

The TouchPad hasn’t exactly gotten the warm reception that HP anticipated, causing the company to issue several discounts on the device recently, and ultimately offer it at closeout prices this weekend.

Quite a few retailers are now sold out of the device thanks to the deep discount. If you scrounge around; however, you may be able to find one. Keep in mind, that HP discontinuing the product means you’re likely to not get the same support for the tablet as you might if you purchased an iPad or Android tablet. With a dead OS, developers are likely to not support the tablet in the future, HP isn’t likely to issue software updates, and if your tablet breaks you may have a rough time find parts….still $99 is a steal for any tablet.

What do you think about the death of webOS? Did any of you pick up a bargain basement TouchPad?
