A new iPhone 5 rumor has the phone launching on October 7, with preorders starting at the end of September. According to 9 to 5 Mac, Apple is currently debating between starting pre-orders for the iPhone on September 29th or September 30th, with preference currently leaning toward the 30th.

9 to 5’s sources indicate the phone will be available either October 7 or October 14, depending on how production goes – which is currently going fairly well.

The iPhone 5 is rumored to use the same dual-core A5 processor used in Apple‘s iPad 2, have an upgraded camera, and to run iOS 5. Apple has not yet announced the phone, with many speculating an announcement will come out of Apple’s traditional September music event which has also not yet been announced.
