HTC Holiday Shows Up on Craigslist, While HTC Ruby Specs Are Revealed

HTC leaks aren’t really anything new, with the company seemingly not too concerned about secrecy for its unreleased products, but it’s not often we can bring you leaked images of one unreleased device and leaked specifications for another all in the same day. Thinking of a new HTC device in the not-so-distant future? Here’s what you’ve got to look forward to!

Let’s start with the HTC Holiday.

HTC Holiday front and back

Photographs of this device were posted to the XDA Developers forum after being posted to Craigslist, one of which helpfully lists all of its technical specifications. The prototype boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

It also sports an ugly ‘California’ sticker on the rear, but we assume this was added by the owner, which is compensated for by a beautifully large 4.5-inch qHD display at a resolution of 960×540. According to SlashGear, that 1.2GHz processor could be the same MSM8660 chip currently found in HTC’s Sensation and Sensation 4G from T-Mobile.

And if that device doesn’t tickle your fancy, how about the HTC Ruby?

Specifications for this device, according to Phandroid, include a super speedy 1.5GHz dual-core processor — that’s faster than any other smartphone or tablet processor on the market — 1GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch qHD display, an 8-megapixel rear-dacing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Despite the slightly smaller screen, that 1.5GHz processor and much improved front-facing camera makes me believe that this is the next HTC device we should all be getting excited about.

It’s unclear when these devices will hit the market, but a number of reports suggest we’ll see the HTC Holiday before the holiday season. Neither device is expected to boast superior sound quality following HTC’s new partnership with Beats, but you never know — HTC may surprise us.

Do either of these devices excite you?
