PlayStation Plus and UPlay members will have early and exclusive access to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta from September 3rd, 2011 until September 11th. While no announcements have been made regarding whether or not other consoles will receive beta access as well, there is always the chance that the multiplayer access will be offered to more than just the PS3 after the exclusive period expires.
The official Assassin’s Creed: Revelations site from Ubisoft details the multiplayer beta and what will be available to players from the start. Folks will have access to nine different characters including: “The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion.”
The maps were also detailed. Three will be available: Knight’s Hospital, Antioch and Constantinople. The official site made note that players will need to alter their play from Brotherhood in order to get the most out of these maps…
“Pay attention to the map layouts because they’ve been fine tuned to allow you to play in a more strategic way than the maps in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. For example, it’s now easier to break line of sight…”
Four game modes will be present at the start of the beta. Two of them are fan favorites from Brotherhood, while two have been created in response to their desires. The modes available: Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch (NEW), and Artefact Assault (NEW).
And, finally, the post also indicates the abilities available to players. You will have access to eight abilities, though you will have to unlock some before you can use them. Available abilities include: Tripwire Bomb (NEW), Closure (NEW), Disguise, Fire Crackers, Throwing Knives, Smoke Bomb, Poison and Morph.
Seeing that the Assassin’s Creed universe is getting massive, a trailer showing off each of the games has been included courtesy of the fine folks at VG247. Check that out at the top of this story.
