Apple Suing Motorola Over Xoom Design

Yesterday, Apple won an injunction against Samsung for the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the EU. Today it was revealed by Foss Patents that Apple has filed a motion with same court regarding the Motorola Xoom.

The document doesn’t say whether or not Apple specifically filed for an injunction against the sale of the Xoom, but merely that it has filed suit in the court claiming that the device infringes on the design of Apple products.

Motorola actually filed a suit against Apple last October, claiming the company was infringing on 18 Motorola patents, a suit which Apple responded to with another lawsuit weeks later regarding patents it felt Motorola was infringing on.

What do you think about the current patent war going on in the tech industry? The companies involved do have a right to sue those the think are infringing on patents they own (that’s the whole point of having a patent in the first place), but it seems like that has started to get out of hand. What do you think will happen when all is said and done? Who will win?
