HTC Wildfire S (T-Mobile) Unboxing (video)

Not everyone wants a giant superphone – for you, T-Mobile presents the HTC Wildfire S. Android 2.3, HTC Sense, and compact form factor with a 3.2-inch display. What it may lack in hardcore specs, Wildfire seeks to make up for by packing the full Android 2.3 plus HTC Sense experience into a small, lightweight body that disappears easily into a pocket or purse.

Available now for $79.99 on contract and after rebate from T-Mobile, Wildfire S features a 3.2-inch, 320 x 480 display, a 600 MHz processor backed by 512 MB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera with flash and VGA video capture. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pre-installed 2GB microSD card expandable up to 32GB to store your tunes, vids, snapshots and files.

Wildfire may not set the geek world on fire (bad pun intended) but it could fill a niche for folks who want basic smartphone power without a giant 4.5-inch display or $200+ price tag. Let’s get it out of the box and see what we think, shall we?
