At long last Motorola has made at least some form of formal statement on the release of the Droid Bionic. During a quarterly earnings call yesterday, Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha stated that the device will be “in stores in September.” Hey, that’s only eight months since we saw it at CES, what do you want from them?
While we still don’t know an exact date or pricing, we at least now know that the phone was not canceled as was once suspected, and we under stand why accessories have been showing up all over the place. What the cause of the lengthy delay was may never be known, but at this point it just doesn’t matter as some time in Sept. we’ll finally be able to pick up this dual-core bad boy from Verizon.
Now we’ll just have to wait and see what we get in our hot little hands in just under two months time. We’ve already heard that some specs have changed since we last did a hands-on with the device – namely that it is launching with Android 2.3 Gingerbread as opposed to Android 2.2 Froyo – but we’ll have to wait to get official word on what exactly is lurking under that sleek exterior for a little while longer.
Now that we finally know when the Droid Bionic is coming, are you anticipating picking one up?
