Gadget: Game Boy Color
Owner: Will
Purchase date: October 2000
Price: $89.99
Why I bought it: It was actually a birthday present that I’d had my eye on for a while.  I thought it was the coolest thing ever.  A color screen?  It was like a revolution.  Even though it was two years old at the time I didn’t care.  I had never seen anything like it.  Nobody could separate my 8Mhz friend and me.  The first game I got (of course) was Donkey Kong Country and I beat it within two hours.  I was amazed by how the gaming experience was changing and I was excited to have my hands on the coolest handheld device.
Best Feature: Game cartridges were a great way to handle games, addictive.  Best of all was you could recharge the batteries or change them out.
Still Working: You bet.
What made me replace it: Gameboy Advance SP came out and could play GB Advance games along with GB Color
Why I’m still hanging on: IT WORKS! And it was my first hand held game system.
