Is This the Dual-Core Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo?

Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo

Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo is a name that has been thrown around a lot as an upcoming phone from the company, but there has been nothing seen in the way of images up until now.  The folks over at Chinese blog IT168 got this image that looks like it was taken from a promotional flyer or poster, and if you look at the printing below the phone, it clearly says “XPERIA Duo.”  Is this the long rumored phone, or someone’s idea of a cruel joke?

Everything about this picture looks right, so we’re thinking this truly is it, and we have to say it looks awesome.  With nothing in the picture to judge scale, we’re going to guess the screen is 4.3-inches, and the insanely thin bezel around the sides mean this handset is going to be pretty much screen and nothing else.  It does appear to have a front facing camera up at the top, but that is not all that big of a surprise these days.  There also appears to be either a light or proximity sensor up there, but no way to tell which it is.  The buttons and interface appear to follow along the lines of the Xperia Arc, but the similarities end there due to that enormous screen.

Of course the biggest assumption is that the Duo is based around a dual-core processor, but there is no way to tell from this picture, and until some sort of official specs come out.

What do you think?  Is this the Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo, and if it is, do you like it?
