Apple Recalls Some Verizon iPads

iPad 2 Review ConclusionApple is recalling a small amount of Verizon iPad 2s. The 3G tablets were flashed with duplicate MEID codes, causing issues when it comes time to connect the tablets to Verizon’s 3G network. Each device on Verizon’s network has to have its own unique MEID code, so if two iPads have the same code only one will be able to be connected to the network at once.

The issue reportedly only affected a small number of the tablets, many of which had not yet reached the hands of customers and were instead returned to Apple. If you’ve recently picked up a Verizon iPad 2 and have had troubles connecting to 3G, Apple Stores can scan your device to find out if you were one of those affected by the issue, and if so will replace the device or no charge.

Were any of you affected by the recall?
