I love it when people find a new use for old tech. In that vein, here’s a fun item from the My Apple Newton blog. Writer Tony Kan got some Twitter action to happen on the proto-tablet known as the Apple Newton. To Tweet, he uses Twittermail for sending via email. To check Tweets, he opens his Courier browser and navigates to his timeline, accessible at http://twitter.com/[USER].

Not bad. And there’s kind of a retro charm to it, no?

People still rocking MessagePads can also use Newtscape. The text-only MessagePad web browser can render Twitter’s mobile site, for perusing text Tweets.

Figured out any new uses for old technology? If so, let us know about it in the comments below.
