With new tools at your disposal and a combat system that has been fabled since it’s original release, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set to be yet another blockbuster title for Ubisoft. The major game publisher finally brought us some details about Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, showing footage that was graphically impressive. In fact, the visuals were so stunning that some began to question whether or not it was computer-generated.
The game will follow the series’ standard open-world gameplay. New mechanics include an item called the hookblade, which can be used to zipline across the city or grab enemies to yank them in for a combo attack. Ziplining reportedly speeds up navigation by around 30 percent. Along with the hookblade, Ezio will also have 300 different bomb variations at his disposal, which will be craftable.
The Assassin’s Creed series is responsible for some of the most intricate and interesting virtual depictions of historical cities in games, and you’ll be seeing some new locales in the next game including Masyaf, Constantinople, Cappadocia, and Rhodes.
Assassin’s Creed has come a very long way since it debuted 2007, and it continues to push the technological boundaries of each existing system today. We’ll see if Assassin’s Creed Revelations lives up to its predecessors.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations is set to be released on November 15, 2011 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It will feature multiplayer modes in addition to the standard single-player offering.
