After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was unofficially unveiled in an extensive leak that details game’s plot at locations, Activision and Infinity Ward made the decision to officially announce the title, providing us with a teaser trailer that is consistent with the concept art that we have seen thus far. To maintain the unprecedented level of anticipation surrounding the title, Microsoft decided to kick off its press event with a live demo of Modern Warfare 3.
Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward’s creative strategist, took the stage at the beginning of the highly-anticipated press conference, playing through a level with varied environments and smooth graphics. Set in Manhattan, the demo showed off some underwater gameplay mechanics as well as a few firefights, both expansive and close-quarters.
Though Activision wasn’t willing to show off any of the multiplayer modes, the campaign was quite impressive. It felt almost nostalgic, calling back to Call of Duty 4. Take a look at the gallery below to get a taste of what the shooter will have to offer.
What do you, fellow gamers, think? Will Modern Warfare 3 edge out Battlefield 3? If you’ve seen the demo, what did you think? Are you looking forward to the next installment in the incredibly-successful franchise? Sound off in the comments below.
