On last night’s episode of GameTrailers TV on Spike, Square Enix decided to reveal its very first trailer for Crystal Dynamic’s reboot of Tomb Raider, one of the best-selling gaming franchises of all time.
The debut trailer for the next installment in the critically-acclaimed Tomb Raider series, which is available for your viewing pleasure above, is completely computer-generated, showing Lara Croft’s encounter with a raging storm and her subsequent stranding on a seemingly deserted island. If you are simply looking to see what the gameplay will be like, you will not find that here. Instead, you will find a visual showcase that exhibits what modern technology has to offer. Though the video is short, it is presumably indicative of one of the game’s final cutscenes.
If the actual play looks even half as good as this does, we’re in for a treat. In recent years, titles like Uncharted have blown away the Tomb Raider franchise in the graphics department. It looks like Crystal Dynamics is shooting to reclaim that crown with its reboot.
What do you, fellow gamers, think? Would you be interested in another Tomb Raider game? What do you think of the trailer’s graphics? Sound off in the comments below.
