by Emily Price | May 25, 2011May 25, 2011 7:30 pm PDT

Vintage Buffalo is a weekly feature here at TechnoBuffalo where we take a look at our old gadgets, why we bought them, and what made us replace them.  Are you like us and hanging on to some gadget relics of the past? Submit your story to vintagebuffalo@technobuffalo.com be featured in a future Vintage Buffalo!

Gadget: Game Boy Micro
Owner: Matt
Purchase Date: Christmas 2005
Price: $99
Why I bought it: I had no real need for it (already owned a Game Boy SP) but I just thought it was a super cool little gadget.
Best feature: It had a lot of features that made it cool. Ultra portable, customizable faceplate, really bright back light and probably the most important, it was nerd cool.
Still working?: Yup
What made me replace it: Game Boy Advanced became outdated so I bought a DS Lite to replace it.
Why I’m still hanging on/why you gave it up: Like I mentioned earlier this thing is incredibly nerd cool. Wherever I go and play this thing I always get at least one or two people asking me about it. It reminds me of the good old days when the worst thing that could possible happen to you in a day is having your batteries run out before I had a chance to save my game in Pokémon.
