Apple Seeks “Carrier Engineer”… In Sprint’s Home City

iphonesprint.jpg

Now that Verizon has joined the Apple fray, could America’s other CDMA carrier be far behind? That’s the theory behind this next item, and the kicker is that this rumor comes from Apple itself.

It stems from an April 2 job ad posted by Apple. The position is for a new Carrier Engineer to join a team “responsible for day-to-day technical interactions with the one or more carriers to track down issues reported by the carrier, assist the carrier with testing they might be conducting and working with program management, software development and test teams to get products approved by the carriers.”

The most interesting part? The job’s located in Kansas City, MO, and happens to have a suburb named Overland Park, where Sprint is headquartered.

What do you make of this, considering recent rumors that Sprint and T-Mobile might be joining Apple’s carrier roster by the holidays? Would the prospect of a Sprint iPhone tempt you? Tell us what you think below.
