Nintendo has released the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS title screen and, seriously, it looks much better than that of the original effort on the Nitnendo 64. Nintendo’s been telling gamers and fans that the update has seen graphical touch-ups and the inclusion of new gameplay elements that extend beyond just a simple 3D port, making this another must-buy Zelda for a lot of people.
The video above was released on Nintendo’s official Japanese site for the Ocarina of Time 3D update. I’ve included a clip of the intro from the Nintendo 64 version to stand as a comparison below.
Notice the sky, the trees, the character models, the grass and the vivid color. The 3DS version of Ocarina of Time looks better than the original by a lot. I won’t lie, that’s left me with a now unrelenting need to get out to the store and buy one of Nintendo’s best games, again.
The 3D version of Ocarina of Time is being developed by Grezzo, a thrid party software company based in Japan. That makes this version an effort from both Nintendo and a third party company, something the company is often dinged as incapable of properly providing. Hopefully the port and all of its tweaks and additions will stand the test of time and deliver yet another take on one of the greatest gaming adventures created to-date.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS is set to release on June 19th, 2011 in North America.
