Samsung Working on 2 GHz Phone

Samsung plans to release a 2GHz smartphone by 2012. With 2 GHz of processing power, the phone would be much closer to your traditional computer than phones currently on the market, narrowing the gap between PC and smartphone.

The rumor comes from South Korean search engine Daum, who claims a high-ranking official for Samsung said “We are planning to release a 2Ghz dual core CPU-equipped smartphone by next year. This product will have the data processing capacities of a regular PC.”

What do you think about the possibility of a 2GHz smartphone? Do you want/need your phone to have as much power as your home computer, or do you think the phones currently on the market are powerful enough?
