Every week, Nintendo releases a presser that details the titles making it to the Wii and DSi‘s virtual marketplaces. Most week’s involve a few new third party efforts, some ports and a classic game or two for the Virtual Console. This week marks one of the best releases in a while: Mega Man X is now available on the Virtual Console for the Wii.
As a Mega Man fan, albeit not as die-hard as some, Mega Man X marks my favorite chapter in the entire franchise. The graphical brilliance, the incredible soundtrack and the relatively difficult gameplay earned X one of the bright spots in my gaming history.
Because of that, I found it imperative that the TechnoBuffalo crowd be informed of this game’s Virtual Console availability. The press release details the title and its cost.
Mega Man X
Original platform: Super NES
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) – Violence
Price: 800 Wii Points
Description: The future of Mega Man has arrived. Hundreds of years after his death, Dr. Light’s final creation is discovered. Released from his capsule by Dr. Cain, X is born into a future world where robot rebellions are a thing of the past. But when Dr. Cain tries to implement Dr. Light’s designs into a new series of Reploids, something goes horribly wrong. Now the future lies on the brink of destruction, and X must use all of his newfound powers and abilities to hunt down the maverick Reploids and their leader, Sigma, before the human race is wiped from the planet.
If you’ve never played Mega Maxn X (shame!), now’s your chance. 800 Wii Points is typical of the SNES port.
