Sprint Lowers Galaxy Tab Price to $199

If you’re looking for an inexpensive tablet – we may have a deal for you. Starting today Sprint will be offering the popular 7-inch Galaxy Tab for just $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

The Galaxy Tab was originally $499.99 at the carrier, with a $50 instant discount, and $150 discount for signing a 2-year agreement. Now the device is technically priced at $429.99, has $90 in instant savings, and still has the $150 discount for signing up for two years.

This is the original Galaxy Tab, running Android 2.2. A new version of the tablet is expected to be released later this year, and Sprint is likely to start carrying a number of Honeycomb tablets over the course of the year as well, tablets that will potentially make it hard to push the older Galaxy Tabs out the door.

Have any of you been thinking about picking up a Galaxy Tab? What do you think about the new price tag?
