Samsung Announces Galaxy Tab 8.9, Redesigned 10.1

Samsung announced a new 8.9-inch version of its popular Galaxy Tab this morning, as well as a redesigned version of its 10.1-inch tablet. The tablets will be running Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, with Samsung TouchWiz UX over it, that Samsung claims will offer “superior multi-tasking and enhanced user interaction and navigation.” The redesigned 10.1-inch tablet will replace the 10.1-inch tablet Samsung announced at Mobile World Congress, primarily making a change in the thickness of the device. The Wi-Fi versions of the tablets are expected to launch on June 8th. The 10.1-inch tab will be $488 for a 16GB version, and $599 for the 32GB version. The 8.9-inch will be slightly cheaper, coming in at $469 for a 16GB, and $569 for a 32GB.
