Gaming for the Weekend – 3/19

We here at TechnoBuffalo are lovers of all things gadget, gizmo and tech. Video games are a part of that world. As a way to share a little bit more about our editors and their weekend habits, we’ve decided to run a weekly feature every Saturday that dives into what some of the staff are playing.

Whether it’s Angry Birds or Bad Company 2, you’re likely to find a wide variety of titles and preferences here every time you read. Enjoy

Jon Rettinger – President
I’m on the road, so its all about mobile games this weekend.  I’ll be trying out my luck at the new St: Patricks themed Angry Birds Seasons.  Those pigs piss me off, and what happened to their bodies?  Headless pigs are just kinda creepy.

Sean P. Aune – Editor-in-Chief
I’m away for business this week, so it’s a mixture of Angry Birds HD since there are some new levels and some Street Fighter IV for kicking in some aid to Japan Earthquake-Tsunami relief.  Also trying out the Motorola Xoom this weekend, and I am now quite in to AirAttack HD,  an old school top down shooter of planes fighting wacky German planes in World War II.  Oh, how I miss the top down shooters.

Jack McGrath – Gaming Intern
There’s nothing better than sitting around on a Sunday afternoon after an extremely busy week and playing games for hours on end. Whether it be creating caverns with friends on our Minecraft server, maneuvering Michael Jordan in NBA 2K11, killing zombies in Black Ops, or finally getting past Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, there are sure to be some twists, surprises, and ensuing hilarity along the way!

Joey Davidson – Video Games Editor
This weekend should be relatively light in terms of gaming. I’m pretty much sticking with Dragon Age 2 and, maybe, starting a new trip through Mass Effect 2 in honor of the upcoming DLC. Dragon Age 2, so far, is solid; but, it ain’t what I’ve become used to from BioWare. Repetitive environments have really, really hurt the life of the title. Especially compared to Dragon Age: Origins and even Mass Effect 2. Two entirely separate games, I know, but BioWare proved their mettle previously… this one, so far, feels a little flat.

What are you playing for the weekend?
