Ready for some delicious Android statistics? Operating system fragmentation has long been a problem plaguing Google’s mobile OS, but now, thanks to the folks at Android Developers, we have some hard information on which dessert themed version the Android crowd is sporting. But who wants to look at statistics when you can analyze a ‘pie’ chart?
Android 2.2 (Froyo) reportedly powers 61.3% of all the Android devices currently on the market, up from the 51.8% of devices it powered this time last year.
Android 2.1 (Eclair) is behind 29% of the devices out there, while Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) is just handling 1% of Android devices out in the wild.
Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) users are even lower than the Gingerbread fans at 0.2%.
Surprisingly, the numbers for Android 1.5 (Cupcake) and Android 1.6 (Donut) are still rather high compared to some of the newer firmwares.
Are you currently rocking an Android device? What version of Android are you using?
