Jovi attributes the steady decline of brick-and-mortar music stores to the expansion of digital ones, more specifically iTunes.
There’s no denying that digital music is dramatically affecting the music industry as a whole. iTunes and other digital music outlets make it possible for you to get a feel for an album before you buy it, and digital radio stations make it possible for you to listen to tracks customized to your own personal preferences without ever paying a dime.
