HP TouchPad Hits Amazon

It looks like the HP TouchPad may be launching pretty soon. The tablet now has its own product page on Amazon, although, the device is not currently available for order (or preorder for that matter). Amazon is allowing customers to sign up on the page to receive a notification when the tablet does become available, an event that is likely to happen soon.

The HP TouchPad was announced in early February (check out our hands-on here). The tablet is part of HP’s first webOS releases since its acquisition of Palm. A Wi-Fi version of the TouchPad is expected to be the first version of the tablet released, and is what the Amazon listing appears to be spec-wise.

From the Amazon listing, the 1.6 pound, 16GB tablet will have:

  • 9.7” (1024×768) Touch Screen Display; 1.6lbs; 13.6mm thick
  • HP webOS Mobile Operating System; Dual Core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor; 1 GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB Storage; Wireless 802.11bgn; Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR; Flash support
  • 1.3 MP Front-facing Camera – video chatting capability; HP Beats Audio Technology
  • Accessories: TouchPad stand and Bluetooth keyboard

The tablet hitting Amazon is a good sign that we’ll probably see the TouchPad sooner rather than later. Are any of you planning to get a TouchPad when it’s released?
